As part of the recovery of the /lustre/projects file system, two files containing lists have been placed in your home directory: ‘/zfs/store5.hydra.local/user/l/login

✅ 1. possible_good_files_login.txt

This file contains a list of files that were successfully recovered. They are most likely intact, but require verification.

What you need to do:

  • Data sets — if possible, overwrite them from a backup or verify integrity (e.g. using a CRC32 checksum).
  • Source code — review the contents manually; if you have a backup (for example, on your local machine), it is recommended to restore from it.
  • Log files — can be deleted.
  • Software distributions / installed packages— remove and reinstall if necessary.

⚠️ 2. damaged_files_login.txt

This file contains a list of files that could not be recovered and were therefore removed.

What you need to do:

  • Data sets — restore from a backup.
  • Source code — restore from a backup (for example, from your local machine).
  • Log files — can be deleted.
  • Software distributions / installed packages — remove and reinstall if necessary.

Please make sure to review both lists and the corresponding files to allow the recovery process to be completed correctly and to prevent further issues with the file system.
